Jessie Short

Assistant Account Executive

Jessie Short joined Strauss Media Strategies as an Assistant Account Executive in January of 2019 after completing Strauss Media Strategies’ 2018 Fall Internship program.

Jessie graduated from University of Georgia in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Interdisciplinary Writing. While at UGA, she co-hosted “Film Thing,” a talk show discussing various weekly film topics on the university’s radio station, WUGA. Her background studies in various media, journalism, and writing led Jessie to ultimately pursue the field of Public Relations in her professional ventures.

Prior to joining Strauss Media Strategies, Jessie worked on film production sets while living in Atlanta. Her participation in these often-independent ventures provided her with hands-on experience to fully understand how to effectively coordinate and run projects from conception to finality and managing all the vital minutiae in between.

When not working, Jessie enjoys going to concerts, traveling, watching movies, reading, going to museums, and watching football and hockey. She is a diehard fan of UGA football (go Dawgs!). Her favorite author is Kurt Vonnegut and her favorite movies are anything made by Quentin Tarantino, Wes Anderson, Damien Chazelle, and Christopher Nolan.

"You couldn’t have been more professional and knowledgeable handling and securing interviews for us with outlets and shows we would never have even thought of! It was as if one of our own team members was in charge! In fact, we’ve had chapters from all over the country report back to me that they heard the interview with Dan Raviv on CBS Radio Network. I have to say that in all my years managing Children’s Congress, this is the first time that radio has gone so well. I’m glad that your team took our concerns about spotty bookings and inaccurate reporting seriously, and we didn’t once have to question the quality of the interviews booked. I look forward to working with your team again in the near future!"
