SRS Recognized by PRSA-NCC for US Labor Secretary’s Labor Day Radio Media Tour


Washington, DC – September 26, 2011 - Strauss Radio Strategies, Inc. (SRS), the nation’s leading provider of strategic radio and television media relations services, announced today that it is the recipient of a 2011 Public Relations Society of America National Capital Chapter (PRSA-NCC) Thoth Award in the Media Relations category.

The 43nd Annual Thoth Awards celebrates the talent and innovation of Washington, DC area public relations professionals. During the awards ceremony, held at the National Press Club in downtown Washington, DC, 27 Thoth Awards and 16 Certificates of Excellence awards were presented to Washington, DC area firms. The SRS staff attended the event and accepted the Thoth in the Media Relations category.IMG_0880

 

The Thoth Award was presented to SRS for the Secretary’s Labor Day RMT project, which was judged to be representative of the best work in the public relations industry. For this project, the U.S. Department of Labor commissioned SRS to undertake a radio media tour on behalf of Labor Secretary Hilda Solis to communicate to the nation the importance of Labor Day and an overall appreciation of the value of working Americans. A total of 43 interviews were conducted with various radio networks, syndicated shows, and individual radio outlets. In all the interviews were heard on more than 8,800 radio stations with a combined AQH audience of nearly 19,000,000 listeners and an ad equivalency value of $674,670.
