Prior to joining Strauss Media Strategies, Horowitz worked as a marketing & communications manager for ZUUS Media, a music video network. At ZUUS, Horowitz was responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining an effective social media strategy across all of ZUUS’s social media properties. Before working at ZUUS Media, she served for years as a media manager for Synaptic Digital (formerly known as Medialink). During her tenure, Horowitz managed hundreds of successful television and radio campaigns for global non-profits and Fortune 100 corporations, such as General Motors, American Express, and Microsoft. Horowitz started her career as an account executive for DS Simon Productions, Inc. where she was responsible for pitching human interest stories to local and national radio outlets. She was also responsible for updating the robust station contact database and reached out to vendors to order airchecks of top interviews. Marissa graduated cum laude from the University at Albany with a B.A. in English.
David Sands is a public relations and marketing professional with more than 14 years of experience. Prior to joining Strauss Media Strategies in 2014, while working for broadcast PR firm “On the Scene Productions” in Los Angeles, Sands worked with some of the world’s most esteemed global brands and national healthcare associations across multi-tier media campaigns. Sands acted as both client liaison and media contact for the American Heart Association, the American College of Physicians and the American Medical Association, where he led broadcast efforts for the monthly JAMA report that resulted in millions of impressions annually. Expert in launching campaigns for major consumer lifestyle and leading global brands, Sands loves creating and selling new story concepts that garner local, regional and national attention. In varied management roles throughout the years, he’s been responsible for senior-level account planning, client counsel, staff management as well as the creation and implementation of media strategies. David has successfully led campaigns for the American Heart Association, Live Nation, Volvo Cars of North America, Nike, Microsoft, Woman’s Day Magazine, Universal Studios and 20th Century Fox, among other major corporate brands.
